Insights into green roof modeling using SWMM LID controls for detention-based designs

Rainfall–runoff responses were observed in a laboratory environment using rainfall simulator and 7.43 m2 green roof cassette equipped with weighing lysimeters. SWMM LID controls developed for various profile configurations based on the physical properties of composite materials. Unknown parameters affecting drainage layer adjusted calibration. The was modeled both as typical Green Roof control Manning’s equation at Bioretention an orifice layer. Key from sensitivity analysis that not directly measured roughness layer, coefficient orifice, conductivity slope (HCO). hydraulics drains considered by varying width drain outlet 0.25 m–1.22 m. During calibration validation multiple events, modeling resulted good fit compared to results (Nash–Sutcliffe model efficiency values 0.70–0.89). limitations are discussed suggested improvements future consideration.
